About Me

me for about pg
I was created to create…

I am Carolina the Artist Designer & Founder behind YesterdayAfter.
I was born and raised in Italy a beautiful  country where I have been surrounded by the amazing Italian art, creativity, history, Mediterranean traditions and European influences. In Italy I studied Art & Design and Jewelry. I am passionate for, Fashion, Interior design, Illustration, Digital Art, Photography, Watercolors painting and sometimes I am inspired to write Poems , Haiku and  50 Words Stories. I always had love for creativity, uniqueness and handcrafts.  I have been following my heart and path, believing that anything is possible if you truly believe in it and in yourself.  During the past 20 years I evolved  in my passions experiencing my artistic visions and self-taught other skills and Art forms such as digital art, graphic and web design, painting with watercolors and acrylics, mixed media, photography and more. My love for antiques lead me hunting for precious items to salvage up cycle and restore. I love painting and refinish old furniture. I like to bring them back to life  creating new treasures. Shabby Chic and Distressing are my favorite techniques.  The Primary focus in my creative philosophy is about salvage, recycling, restoration, transforming things in one of a kind. My passion for antique, vintage and founds objects, is combined with Fine Art and Design… inspiring me to pursue my dream, creating  a brand name and design business  “YesterdayAfter”.  I always had a strong desire  to design and handmade One-of-a-Kind items. Beautiful Limited Edition prints from my paintings, extended to jewelry, garments and accessories. I like to combine treasures from nature and modern elements with a nod to the unforgotten past. Creating items that would leave a recognizable mark on who’s wearing my Art with love, happiness and joy.  I am also the editor, designer and amateur photographer of this website. I moved from Italy to United States in 2002 and I reside in California since then.  Along with being a full time artist I am also a mom of a wonderful daughter.

Just one more note…..

Hi welcome into my Art and in  the world of YesterdayAfter,

Crown_logo_linkback button2I hope that you love my creations and that you will enjoy experience my Art now and for time to come.
I thrive on all things hand-made and creative. I love the interaction with inspired and inspiring people.
Each item I design it is special and unique has a piece of my own story and background. There is my soul and heart in every creation I made.
I always loved to design what I was feeling…make my own path and now my dream is to  share it with the world.
My creativity in my collections especially my Fashion Design is often inspired from the past centuries, mixed with futuristic Avantgarde,  Bohemian, Country French and of course Italian Design. All this mix of Styles together give life to my original and unique creations.

At this moment my primary focus is working on my Art, illustration and watercolor paintings collections series that I sell as Limited Edition Fine Art Signed Prints and often “Hand Embellished” .
I also love to create jewelry for  my
“Among Nature” Jewelry Collection.
The nature is my greatest inspiration for my Jewelry Designs. I often use found in nature objects hand-picked by me in special places I visit.  All my creations are made using only beautiful natural gemstones, seashells, fossils, woods, bone and crystals which  I combine with precious and semi precious metals.

Everything is made by me from the design to the finished piece. I am an Independent Artist.

I love to create the unexpected based on unusual combinations of antique and contemporary materials, natural shapes and elements that I meticulously and carefully hand pick and select.

If you choose my Art, I would like for you to express yourself and be able to create your own mutable story every day.  Feeling special, beautiful and unique when wearing my one-of-a-kind creations, or when just looking at one of my paintings or digital creations on your wall. I would love for you to feel.

What makes me happy
is to give happiness and inspire people through my Art
give feelings to the heart and deep to the soul!

  1. What a gorgeous blog you have, very lovely! I used to enjoy buying jewelry when I was young…and had money 🙂 Are you familiar with the designer Judith Jack?–she worked in sterling silver–beautiful pieces.

“Each item I design it is special and unique, has a piece of my own story and background.”

I felt so touched.I remembered a quote which said-“An artist’s autobiography is embedded in his artwork” Indeed. 🙂

  3. It’s easy to forget what an amazing gift life really is. Our lives are nothing but a cosmic blink. Even our seemingly all-encompassing world is just tiny blue dot circling an average sized star spiraling around a galaxy of 200-400 billion stars, which itself is just one galaxy among billions more. Yet for one brief moment, we get to experience the wonders of existence, of consciousness. You are Very Skilled already There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures.

  6. Wow. You are one talented lady Carolina. Love your work. When I was in the military I was in Italy many times. Love that country! The architecture is beyond impressive. Favorite places there for me are Rome, Vatican City and Brindisi. How can you not be inspired with art when you have been there. My passion is wood working, but that said I LOVE to paint as well. I have been absent with it for over 30 years, but now I’m back. Hope you have a second to visit my blog and see. All the best….Kevin

  7. Thanks for visiting and liking my blog Carolina. I did visit the doodlewash link above. It’s a great read. You mentioned being inspired by your father. For me it was my mother. She was an awesome artist in her day. Now, that I have started painting again I find myself looking at things differently again. A leaf or tree or sky captures my interest more. You look at the world differently. I don’t know if that is universal for all artists, but it is for me. Keep up the great work! Kevin

  13. Do ever lose your creativity,

    it’s like being a childlike

an not forgetting how to play…

Nature never forgets how to play,

    just watch any

    animal around you…

Tiss a quick blink, a shy wink an a soft wet kiss place gently upon your forehead…
