Day 4:  Freeze – Candelabra
Double Challenge combined prompts #Drawlloweentober2019
Inktober:  Freeze
MabsDrawlloweenClub2019:  Canelabra

Today drawing is ethereal and surrealistic it took long time to finish it! There is lots of  detail work in these drawings especially my latest three! Today I have used black and white inks! It was challenging to combine prompts in a interesting and original way and I am very happy with what I did!  Today I used black and white inks and watercolor for my “Candelabra lady” almost a kind of Snow Queen in the freezing snow wearing candles on her shoulders a icicle crown and a forest dress 🖤❄️❄️❄️🖤 I added one of my older quotes that in my opinion fits pretty well with the drawing. I hope you like it!

❤ Details about my drawings:
Supplies used for my Ink drawing ink pens used COPIC Multiliner Black ink #03 and 05, Micron dark red ink #, brown #003. Fountain Pen Pilot Prera Fine Nib. Alvin Draft/Matic pencil #03 Limited Edition Pink Mab Graves.  A dash of watercolor,  I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier  l’Aguarelle,  Pentel Aqua Brush – I painted on Bee Paper for watercolor 140lb, 100% cotton, cold pressed, size 6×9 inches. .

❤ Details about these Challenges:
Every year in October since 2009, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge created by Illustrator Jake Parker  by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. Day 3:  Bait – Bat
Double Challenge combined prompts #Drawlloweentober2019
Inktober:  Bait
MabsDrawlloweenClub2019:  Bat

Today drawing is another scene with soft color tones and a hint of Victorian – Gothic style in brown ink I am liking drawing these! prompts are Bait an Bat and  I wanted to create something more ethereal than creepy! So the girl in my drawing is a nature and bat lover she love to feed the bats at dusk wearing a skirt made of leaves, she is able to communicate with bats, they are spirit animals and they symbolize free spirit trusting in vibrations and inner guidance. They are special and beautiful creatures.

Day 2:  Mindless – Catacombs

Inktober:  Mindless

Today drawing is almost a dreamy scene with soft tones of darkness, evoking elements that brings together the two prompts Mindless and Catacombs with a hint of Victorian – Gothic style. I made the drawing in brown ink with a final touch of watercolor and like for day 1 I wrote another quote that complete the drawing. I hope it will speak to you ❤

MabsDrawlloweenClub2019:  Vampire

Happy October! Let’s welcome the Fall Season that brings a lots of creativity and  great art challenges. This is a full month of daily drawings!
Inktober  begins today!
I am happy I made my first drawing starting this exciting new series! Once again I combined the prompts of my two favorite challenges.
Today my Vampire drawing is mostly created in red and black inks only a little splash of watercolor. This month you will see more dark themed art in my drawings cause the “mabsdrawlloweenclub challenge has prompts inspired by darkness and Halloween theme. It’s always interesting to see the way I can adapt my style! Each year I give myself a goal about what I want to experiment or work on during this month, last year was “Textures”, this year would be mostly “Inks and toned color papers” you will see a variety of interesting drawings. I hope you like my vision of Vampire she is not as bloody and violent as traditional vampires. To complete the drawing I have created a quote and is: I see the light through the ring of darkness “ – ©️CarolinaRusso

INKTOBER 2019 – Official Prompt List!

78315df6f0f901f4-weblogo
October Challenge

COMING SOON!
“INKTOBER 2019
31 Days 31 Drawings”

Since 2009 in  October, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.

InkTober 2019
Yes we are getting close to that special time of the year that gather artists all over the world together for this beautiful drawing challenge. Are you getting ready for Inktober 2019? I am brainstorming at the moment about how I like to take the challenge and plan my series.
Time goes fast and this is my 4th year of InkTober, I will do all my best to create something interesting and to be able to complete the 31 days.  This year I have been busy with my art and collaborations and accomplished nice thigs. If you are new to InkTober this is a great challenge that help to refine your sketching skills, stimulate your creativity at drawing and help to get you in a habit and routine to work daily.  This  is a great challenge for experienced artists and beginners. Anyone can participate you can choose to follow the official prompt list or make your own!

Today Jake Parker the illustrator creator of Inktober just released the new “Official Prompt List 2019” and I love to post it here so that you have some time until October 1st to plan and get ready!

My Inktober history:

2016  following the “Official Prompt List” I have created a “Fantasy Character Design”  which I love, her name is ©Ylia.  I have illustrated her adventures inspired by the daily prompts and developed her character and story throughout the month. If you follow me from the last 4 years, then you should remember my character Ylia,  the pic below shows one of my entry and you can see her. If you like to see more check all the other entries about her on my InkTober 2016  Gallery:

Day #17 – BATTLE – InkTober 2016 ©Carolina Russo

I had fun to create ©Ylia, she is a futuristic kind of “Superhero Warrior” with a nod to the past, she is a Messenger of “Love and Peace” and a creature of the universe that fight for the universal love. Most of my drawings were accompanied by quotes and Haiku poems that I wrote. Maybe one day I will publish an illustrated book of @Ylia Adventures! I would love that!  We will see what the future brings!

2017 I have Joined two amazing challenges InkTober and MabsDrawlloweenClub that is a little on a more spoocky – Halloween theme prompts created by Pop Surrealist artist Mab Graves!  My daily drawings were inspired by the combination of the two challenges daily prompt words creating my own hybrid challenge “DrawllooweenTober”  yes this was my plan idea to enable me to join daily both challenges at the same time creating one drawing. And well it was pretty challenging, not easy but I wanted to make it harder and more challenging to stimulate creativity and I made it! The outcome was a lovely collection of dark themed spooky drawings which I am very pleased! My drawing “Frankenstein Bride” of this series become my first Die Cut Sticker just launched! And if you like see more click the link of my  Gallery Inktober+ MabsDrawlloweenClub 2017

Now available on Etsy Shop Carolina Russo Art!

2018 Last year I have joined again the two challenges, I really love both and the community of participating artists around these two challenges. I didn’t want to miss them so I’ve participated with my hybrid mixing the two prompts and my own hashtag is  #drawlloweentober  you can see my Gallery Inktober+ MabsDrawlloweenClub 2018

My original watercolor ink painting was inspired by the Bride of Frankenstein! Created in 2017 following the official combined challenges prompts. I painted this in my inspired Blythe doll style! Halloween theme for this one!

New Painting – Princess Isadora – #drawthisinyourstyle Challenge

Draw This In Your Style Challenge

Princess Isadora – Watercolor ink painting ©CarolinaRusso

This month I have participated to another inspiring painting challenge the second hosted this year by Artist Annie Stegg Gerard on Instagram.
Annie challenged us for a “Draw this your style challenge, posting her oil painting “Princess Isadora”. I have participated to her first challenge painting “Princess Cordelia” and of course I wanted to participate again. I loved to paint Isadora in my style. Annie gave us no restrictions and pure freedom to re-create her beautiful painting in anyway we wanted.  Her Art is ethereal and dreamy, make you think about fantastic fairytales. I loved to paint my vision of  Princess Isadora, according to Annie she is Cordelia’s older sister, so now I have re-created the two beautiful sisters in my style and medium. I am happy with the outcome.

Princess Isadora – Original Oil Painting by ©Annie Stegg Gerard

About Annie’s art world….
Inspired by nature, folklore and mythology, her work evokes emotion and imagination in the viewer.  Annie has a special love for the 18h century Rococo painters who have had a large influence on her own method. She finds inspiration in their imagination, and the dreamlike palette and lively brushwork that combine to create a wonderful atmosphere of enchantment.” I suggest you to visit her website at Gallery Gerard

I hope that you like my watercolors and ink paintings,  let me know your impressions and feelings about it! I really would like to know!
