I am Carolina Russo from Southern California (follow me on my Blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest!). I am very excited and happy to be a Guest Doodlewasher! This blog is fantastic! I admire Charlie’s creativity and his doodlewashes are beautiful and inspiring. I am so proud to be able to say that I am one of the featured on Doodlewash. Thank you Charlie for having me here.

I was born and raised in Italy, the beautiful country where I have been surrounded by Italian art, creativity, history, Mediterranean traditions and European influences. My father is an artist and I grew up observing and being amazed by his oil paintings. I knew since I was a child that I wanted to be an artist. I enjoyed drawing, coloring and creating things since a very early age.

On Saturday I came across a TED talk where she shares her best pieces of advice for living a meaningful creative life. I was truly inspired and it didn’t take long before I got the audiobook which is about 5 hours long. It is very easy to listen to and quite short in audiobook terms). You can get it in Tunes but here are the links to the audiobook and the hardcopy book.

Liz Gilbert talks about how creativity works, how important it is to be creative, and how we have to overcome our fears in order to make art. We have to learn to go where any idea may take us. It is a sort of a self-help book but you won’t find a list…
