Yes we are getting close to that special time of the year that gather artists all over the world together for this beautiful drawing challenge. Are you getting ready for Inktober 2019? I am brainstorming at the moment about how I like to take the challenge and plan my series.
Time goes fast and this is my 4th year of InkTober, I will do all my best to create something interesting and to be able to complete the 31 days. This year I have been busy with my art and collaborations and accomplished nice thigs. If you are new to InkTober this is a great challenge that help to refine your sketching skills, stimulate your creativity at drawing and help to get you in a habit and routine to work daily. This is a great challenge for experienced artists and beginners. Anyone can participate you can choose to follow the official prompt list or make your own!
Today Jake Parker the illustrator creator of Inktober just released the new “Official Prompt List 2019” and I love to post it here so that you have some time until October 1st to plan and get ready!
2017 I have Joined two amazing challenges InkTober and MabsDrawlloweenClub that is a little on a more spoocky – Halloween theme prompts created by Pop Surrealist artist Mab Graves! My daily drawings were inspired by the combination of the two challenges daily prompt words creating my own hybrid challenge “DrawllooweenTober” yes this was my plan idea to enable me to join daily both challenges at the same time creating one drawing. And well it was pretty challenging, not easy but I wanted to make it harder and more challenging to stimulate creativity and I made it! The outcome was a lovely collection of dark themed spooky drawings which I am very pleased! My drawing “Frankenstein Bride” of this series become my first Die Cut Sticker just launched! And if you like see more click the link of my Gallery Inktober+ MabsDrawlloweenClub 2017
2018 Last year I have joined again the two challenges, I really love both and the community of participating artists around these two challenges. I didn’t want to miss them so I’ve participated with my hybrid mixing the two prompts and my own hashtag is #drawlloweentober you can see my Gallery Inktober+ MabsDrawlloweenClub 2018
Today Settember 1st 2019 were released both challenges Official Prompt Lists. Right now I have time to think and plan my way to drawing for these challenges! Here there is the MadsDrawlloweenClub prompt list 2019
These Challenges are open to anyone that love sketching with ink pens and if you’re member of the #worldwatercolorgroup you’re free to add a dash of watercolor. You can drawing every other day, or every few days, or one entry a week! Doesn’t has to be a complicate drawing, it can be a small sketch, it will help you to develop a habit and refine your skills. Time goes fast and I had many beautiful things happening in one year. I am very grateful for everything! This is my 3rd InkTober, I hope to be able to complete the 31 days. I had fun to create Ylia, she is a futuristic kind of “Superhero Warrior” with a nod to the past, she is a Messenger of “Love and Peace” and a creature of the universe a feeler of the universal love. Most of my drawings were accompanied by quotes or Haiku poems that I wrote. Maybe one day I will publish an illustrated book of @Ylia Adventures! I would love that! We will see what the future brings!
InkTober 2017 Last year I have Joined two amazing challenges InkTober and Drawlloween that is a little more spoocky Halloween themed prompts created by Pop Surrealist artist Mab Graves! My daily drawings were inspired by the combination of the two Challenges daily prompt words and I have combined the names creating my own challenge “DrawllooweenTober” yes this was my plan to be able to join and drawing daily for both amazing challenges at the same time, let me tell you it was pretty challenging and not easy but that was what I wanted to make it harder and extremely challenging and I made it! Creating a lovely Collection of dark themed little spooky drawings which I am very pleased see my whole Gallery Inktober Drawlloween 2018
InkTober 2018 For now I just got the “Official InkTober Prompt List” I don’t know at this moment what I would be creating. I need to think! I am very excited to join Jake Parker once again and participate to the challenge! I would be Sharing on the Blog and daily on Instagram @carolinarussoart I probably would be participating again to Drawlloween challenge like last year I love both challenges and the only way to make it through is to combine them in a double challenge. I mix the official prompts to make it more challenging to produce a great collection of drawings, or another idea is to alternate the days between the two challenges if anyone will do it let me know.
Visit Jake Parker website for more details, videos, inspiration and lots to learn. I exported here the Official prompt list for the month.

Today I am happy to share one of my latest work. I have been busy with some interesting commissions that I will reveal very soon in my next coming posts.
In the mean time, today I like to share what I have created out of a beautiful nature find, a unique piece of “Eucalyptus Tree Bark” I have found this piece near the tree where it belonged, it did speak to me and I took it. I love the shape is not a flat piece it is curved and is about 13 inches long and 4.5 inches wide in the widest part. This piece is in perfect conditions the grain has a lovely natural white patina. I did nothing to it than just passing a soft cloth to brush off eventual dust. Sorry I haven’t taken a photo of the natural bark before drawing, I guess I was too excited and inspired to start working on it.
What turned out is a mysterious face and ethereal portrait, created with only a black and a white Ink pens. I loved and enjoyed drawing this piece very much. Following the natural grain of the wood and letting the curves lead my drawing allowing this face to come alive and out to us. It is a one of a kind piece, I don’t have a title yet but you all can help me to find one, you can tell me in the comments what do you see in her expression? What she is telling you? Your help is very much appreciated and together we can find a title for her.
Nature is a great source of inspiration in many ways and especially in Art because it stimulates your creativity helping you to relax and feel grounded. When you are able to feel connected with the earth, you are and feel centered and balanced letting go negativity no matter what’s going on around you. I love nature in all the aspects and benefits it give us. I based my life on nature and natural remedies to take care myself health wise and successfully. I enjoy always time spent outdoor it is so precious walking in the wood or enjoying a walk on the shore near the ocean, I like hiking and exploring places in appreciation of what often we take for granted.
Nature is precious and inspire me in many ways and in all the mediums I work with. I am always on the look out to find interesting things that I can create with. I also have based my whole Jewelry Collection on nature. I am so happy when I can find interesting and inspiring pieces as gift of nature to collect and create with.
I love leaves, tree bark, gemstones, fossils, sea shells, driftwood, flowers, branches and more. I love to salvage these precious finds and give them a new life and purpose through my art.
Details about my drawing: Ink drawing supplies used: ink pens MicronBlack ink #03 and #05, UniBall Signo Angelic Colour White pen, Eucalyptus Tree Bark approx. size 13 × 4.5 inches.
❤ Visit my Etsy Shop for more ideas! Just updated there are lots of new work listed as Limited Edition Signed Prints of my original watercolor paintings.
Thank you so much for following and sharing my work your support means everything to me! ❤
